WHY F2B GOLDENDOODLES?
We often get asked what generation our puppies are, and we’re happy to say that our puppies are F2B Goldendoodles that will be roughly 37.5% Golden Retriever and 62.5% Poodle. Our sire Duke is an F1 Goldendoodle, 50% Golden Retriever, and 50% Poodle. Our Dam Mollie is an F1B Goldendoodle, 22.5% Golden Retriever, and 77.5% Poodle. While our other Dam Gracie is an F1B Goldendoodle, which is 25.6% Golden Retriever, and 74.4% Poodle
Goldendoodles are known to be ideal family pets due to their loyal nature, eager-to-please attitude, intelligence, and hypo-allergenic very low or non-shedding coats, which is highly desirable for households with mild-to-moderate pet dander allergies.
So why an F2B goldendoodle over other generations of Goldendoodles? Well, in our opinion, for all the reasons you were initially attracted to Goldendoodles in the first place. Goldendoodles are beloved because of their intellect, temperament, and charm. Since F2B’s are multi-generational, it allows us the ability to predict with more certainty what our puppies will look like and to ensure that their coats will be more allergy-friendly than other generations. We can also predict with better certainty what type of temperament our puppies will have.

An F2B, in our opinion, is your best option and safest option if you want the best chance of finding a Goldendoodle with everything you want. That traditional Goldendoodle look, allergy-friendly, extremely low or non-shedding coat, and the character traits and intelligence so desired in a Goldendoodle.

So why are Goldendoodles more expensive than Golden Retrievers, Poodles, or other pure breeds? That is a great question that has multiple answers. Goldendoodles make lovely family pets, service dogs, and therapy dogs and have quickly grown in popularity and desirability. Therefore, Goldendoodles are both rarer and more expensive than either of their pure-bred parents.
These general rules apply to F2B Goldendoodles as well. A lot of work and planning has gone into breeding F2B Goldendoodles as they are multi-generation puppies requiring 3 generations of Goldendoodles. (Golden Retriever x Poodle = F1; F1 x Poodle = F1B; F1B x F1 = F2B). This results in a more difficult generation of Goldendoodle to breed, resulting in an even rarer puppy than an F1 or F1B Goldendoodle.
